Our Story

In today’s world of rapid technological and economic advancement, we are also witnessing an increase in brokenness, trauma, injustice, and moral decay. Many leaders are unprepared for crisis, while communities rich in human and material resources continue to suffer due to disunity, corruption, and underdevelopment.

Recognizing these realities, Ben and Lydia Akpera returned to Nigeria in 2007 to respond to the call of healing and transforming leadership. HTL was born from years of vision clarification, pilot projects, and strategic mentoring. It is now a platform for mobilizing volunteer teams and partners committed to healing, reconciliation, discipleship, and holistic transformation across Africa and beyond

What we do

Healing, Reconciliation & Making of Peace

We facilitate healing for individuals and communities by addressing heart wounds, reconciling relationships, multiplying healing agents, and restoring cultural and ethnic identities in alignment with God’s design.

Transforming Leadership

We renew and equip leaders to model kingdom values, confront injustice, steward resources wisely, and guide their communities in times of crisis for lasting societal transformation.

Multiplying Obedient Disciples

We train believers to experience God personally, obey His word, and replicate the process in others—resulting in multiplied disciples, churches, and transformed lives.

Mobilizing and Empowering Community & Cultural Transformation

We empower ordinary people to facilitate change in their communities through prayer, biblical discovery, missions engagement, and stewardship of local resources for redemptive development.
